Our source of inspiration comes from traditional brewer, Alberto Pacheco. Alberto, in the face of present economic difficulties country decided it was time to take risks and follow a dream: To create hand-crafted beer with its own identity, all of which are and will be imbued with a philosophy based on hard work and quality, values which are very “Riojan”. There have been years of hard work and research in the creation of Mateo & Bernabé beers. A great deal of research goes into the nuances of each hand-crafted beer ensuring each of Mateo & Bernabé  beers are uniquely different. Much thought is given to each creation guaranteeing each beer is unique and special.  Much like the wines of Rioja, the diverse varietals stem from our history, culture, craftsmanship and innovation, ranging from the traditional to the most innovative elaborations, flavors, and nuances. Each is emblazoned with an endearing and attractive design that depicts and reinforces the most important elements and icons of our land, the “Corquete” of Mateo, the fish of Bernabé, and the scallop shell of Santiago.
